The Curious George Questionnaire: #10
Ready to escape social media forever? Seth Werkheiser shows you the way
MM: It was a first after all my years (four to be precise) of being on Substack. A follower invited me to give him a phone call! I nearly fell over stumbling toward the phone. His name? Seth Werkheiser. What did we talk about? Hell if I know! But given the warm tones of another human voice was enough to make me genuinely like the guy. Iโd nearly forgotten about the call when George nudged me to see if HE could give Seth a call. Silly monkey. Seth picked up the line!
She: Seth Werkheiser is leading a real life โescape the roomโ challenge these days, and just in time, too. The room: social media. The break-out gear you and your crew need: a regular dose of Sethโs fantastic โstack Social Media Escape Club, time spent offline, with community, and something that our pal George has by the poundโcuriosity. Read on (youโll be glad you did!)โฆ
Seth Werkheiser Answers The Curious George Questionnaire!
To me, curiosity is:
Not being afraid to be bad at something, or worried that things might not work out.
Describe a road not taken. Any regrets?
In 2012 or so I was in the studio with a band for a few weeks. I was living quite minimally at the time, and could just pack up and do that. Near the end of our time there, an opportunity came up to work with Red Bull Music, which lined up with the band wrapping things up and going on a U.S. tour. They asked me to join them on the road, but I had this Red Bull Music thing drop in my lap, so I had to pass. Turns out that gig got pushed back six months. I should have went on the road with that band.
Tell us how you fill your curiosity wellโฆ
By going on lots of walks, being in the woods, trusting my gut, and some late evening coffee.
Wonder or awe? Why?
Wonder, because if I could define โaweโ then itโd probably diminish how great it is.
How would you spend your last day on earth?
Hopefully surrounded by some good friends and eating pizza, showing each other our favorite YouTube videos.
โMy life philosophy is_______.โ
I worship at the church of โJust be cool.โ Be nice to those around you, set good boundaries, spend as little time doing things you donโt wanna do, and help lift up others because a rising tide lifts all boats.

Whoโs the CGQ Crew?
About She: Sheila Moeschen is a humorist, writer, photographer, and salty New Englander. You can find her on Substack at Stay Curious.
About MM: Michael Maupin helms the StoryShed Substack (among other things) and is a recovering screenwriter, book and magazine editor, and lifelong diarist.
About George: George is a man of letters, leisure, and all things interesting. Named after the fabled monkeyโeccentric or genius parentage, who knows?โheโs made it his mission to discover the most fascinating, unique, and curious people like YOU. Good work if you can get it. When heโs not chatting or writing heโs a sucker for those games of chance. He once lost everything he owned in a poker game with Mother Teresa.
Fantastic!
